Why does nail polish remover(acetone) remove permanent marker stains?

I’m doing a science project and I’d like to know why acetone is able to remove permanent marker stains. Also, it’ll be great if you can give me the chemical formula too =D

it’s only a few small spots, but the finish has come off a little (it looks like it would be scratches), is there any why to fix it and is there any why to get finger nail polish off? Please Help!

because the one i currently use leaves stains on my nails…like it takes the nail polish off, but it leaves a stain of the color that the nail polish was on my nail! also how much does your recommended nail polish remover cost? thanx!!!

Spilled nail polish remover on Macbook Pro?

i just found a whole bottle of red polish my kids found somewhere and dumped behind their toybox!!! my landlord already came hollering about mud in the carpet (which i was carpet cleaning when she came..) i have no idea how to begin to get this stain out! help please!!!

plz help ? i will have presentation tomorrow? why the nail stained from using the nail polish and how avoid it
