Try hydrogen peroxide. It removes stains but doesn't harm fabric.

  2. Gwenhwyvar says:

soak in cold water, then use bar soap…

well, when i get blood on something i usually use spray and wash or if that doesn't work try and soaking the pants in hot water with a little detergent that should help it.

Way back in the day when wedding dresses were sown by hand, the way that they took the blood out if they pricked themselves with the needle was to use their own saliva. . . it works, but it is kinda gross. . .

    lick it

  9. Dr. Nayyar says:

If it is a fresh stain (WET), than cold water will take it right out without a mark. If it is a dry stain, like in your condition, try hydrogen peroxide. That might help, but that also might dim your cloths as well so be careful.

If you dried them in a hot dryer, then you have set the stain. As a last resort, try "Goof Off". It is a strong stain remover, and will not remove the color.

If the blood is very fresh, rinse immediately and use shout and scrub well to remove the stain. If you washed them already but did not run them through the dryer (heat can set stains), you may still have some hope. I use a combination of the shout in the gel formulation, it comes in a bottle with an orange scrub brush on top with some hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide will help take out the stain. Or you can try some oxy clean.
If the above do not work, you could try a professional dry cleaner that specializes in spot removal.
    good luck

My personal favorite is Murphy's Oil Soap.
Consumer reports suggests blotting with cold water and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Then cleaning with enzyme detergent.

Don't use hot water. It will set the stain

Soak your clothes in cold water and then use a stain remover. Next time wear a Stayfree maxi pad and you will not have to worry about leaks.
