Before you replace it you may want to try to redye it. if you get a good match it will be faster, easier and cheaper. the carpeting store should be able to help you get a good match if you bring a small sample of the carpet to them.

YES… HOPEFULLY YOU CAN PULL THE CARPET OUT OF A SEPARATE BEDROOM OR CLOSET, NOT TOUCHING THE OLD CARPET… USE THIS ( SAME DYE LOT ) TO REPAIR…

& BUY NEW FOR AREA PULLED UP, TRY TO MATCH, OR IF POSSIBLE ASK FOR ADVICE FROM OWNER.

It can be done, but you almost need to take the carpet up to put tape on the underneath side. The patch still may not match. Can you just put a piece of furniture over the spot?

buy a matching color spray and spray it not too close
take a picture and try to see if they have one color similar

You need to buy a piece of carpet of the same color and kind than the one damage, after it, you and cut an sqare of the damaged carpet containing the spot, and place instead the new one. you should use a cardboard wood downside to keep it in its place. it will be noticed because the used carpet, but is a way to avoid to change all teh carpet. (you can go with a pro to make this job and stills cheaper than change all the carpet.

    Good look

You’ll be charged for it. Bleach the whole rug using a steam machine. Probably needs a cleaning anyway.
