I’ve seen those blue lights in Petco, like a flashlight size light, and you can hold it over an area to see exactly where the stain is located so that you can apply the treatment to the right spots instead of guessing. The urine shows up or flouresces (if that’s the right word) when you have the lights off in the room.

Nature’s Miracle liquid is a pretty good odor neutralizer that you can apply to carpet stains, but it sounds like you may need to know exactly where your "trouble spots" are before you can try to get rid of them.

Once the urine has soaked into the carpet and down into the padding and the tackboards and floor (or wood) underneath, it’s not an easy fix.

Replacing wall to wall carpet is expensive, but maybe if all else fails you could try putting down cheaper area throw rugs over the bad carpet (like Home Depot sells in pre-rolled 5×7 or 8×10 sizes).

The Nature’s Miracle will work but it takes about 3 days to dry as you need to completely soak the spot then it goes all the way down and gets all the urine, Nature’s miracle can also be added to carpet shampoo when cleaning a carpet. This is a great product,it is an enzyme that actually eats the urine.

Have you tried sponging it with white vinegar? Try Bicarbonate soda mixed with little water.
