Can I use light nail polish without base polish and not stain my nails?

I have light pink O.P.I. nail polish and no base polish, and I’ve heard that it can stain your nails. Is that only dark colors? I painted my nails that color before and not noticed anything. I’ve also used red of the same kind with no staining. I already have very healthy nails that never break.

base coat not only prevents staining of nails it is also helps adhesion of the of the color coat (ie makes color look like it is suppose to and helps product last longer). As Welaa top coat helps protect it.

YOu should use a base coat, 2 color coats and a top coat to achieve best adhesion, coverage, and color. That is the way they are chemically formulated.

Depending on the type of person you are and skin tone, Im going to have to say no anyway. I use nail-polish without base 99.9% of the time (in fact I don’t even own base!) so I wouldn’t worry about it!
