Can someone tell me how to remove a mustard stain?

I got mustard on a dress my sisster let me ware to a party. I need to get it out cause she loves this dress and has had it foever! She's going to kill me if she finds out and I'm not to good with laundry and cain't afford a cleaners. PLEASE HELP ME!

    Take it to your local Dry Cleaner. They have special stain solutions as well as the people who know how to use them!

    If anything, they can give you a good, professional answer.

    2. Gently work a mild detergent into stain.

    3. Rinse in cool water.

    4. Apply a laundry stain remover.

    5. Wash and air dry.

    Tips:
    Avoid exposing the fabric to heat until the stain is completely lifted.

    Treat dry-cleanable fabrics professionally.

    Mix a solution of 1 tbsp. ammonia and 2 cups water if stain persists, and blot on spot.

    also can try spraying hairspray on the stain, then wash it with the rest of your clothes

    Is the dress washable? That's very important to know. Look at the label. If you can wash it, put Zout (not Shout) on the stain and it should come out. Otherwise you will have to spend the money to have it cleaned. Point out the stain to the cleaners. The longer the stain sets, the harder it is to remove.

    Use Shout on it. There is honestly no stain that I haven't been able to remove with it. Let sit on the material for a couple minutes and then wash it in warm water. If its a dress I would advise using whats called a delicate bag which in essence its a netted bag which protects the dress when using a washing machine. You can find those usually at a bargain store or dollar stores but if you don't mind spending a little extra and want convenience normally you can get one in a lingerie store as well.     You could try some baking soda and water. Don't wait too long to try to get it out cause mustard stains are hard to get out after so long.

    Soak it in vinegar & water 1c of hot water to 2Tbsp of vinegar let it sit for 30 mins then put it in with your regular laundry add your detergent & the stain will be gone.I add 1cup of vinegar to my laundry all the time the clothes come out brighter & no there's no odor using vinegar lol..Good Luck

    They now have oxiclean spray.
    Its the same as oxiclean remover that you put in your laundry to get stains and dirt out better. Try this oxiclean spray and spray it on the mustard stain; let it set for 1/2 hr then bloat it with a paper towel and repeat if you have to and rub gently and hopfully the mustard stain is vanished.     Steps:

    What are the care instructions on the garment?

    General but somewhat clumsy and drastic method for removing stains: Soak garment in your favorite brand of dishwashing detergent and warm water. Hold up the garment (still in the sink) and apply bar soap directly to it. If that loosens things up but does not get everything out, apply toothpaste directly to the stain.

    This is best for small stains on sturdy garments. (It gets ink and oil paint out of polyester. It can, however, be somewhat hard on fabric; and you've gotta' wonder what toothpaste really is doing to your teeth, especially the "super whitening" varieties. I kept a tube of Ultra-Brite around; this raised a few eyebrows. I explained that it was for cleaning ink and oil paint out of clothing, and you should never use that stuff on your teeth.)

    Oops. Turmeric (an ingredient in mustard which makes it yellow) is a dye. Do *not* use ammonia, per this site. Anyway, this looks promising. Good luck.

    Mustard is the hardest thing to get out,,, sorry to say.,, try the clorox pen, tide, or oxyclean. rub it gently and let it stay on it for awhile. then wash it,,, thats all the help i can give you!! sry about your sister.     Mustard is a very difficult stain to remove. It is actually the turmeric in the mustard that makes it so tough. These sites give a variety of suggestions for removing mustard and turmeric stains, and just as importantly, they suggest what not to do. Good luck with it.

    If you have white dial soap, and cold water.. Get it wet and rub just that spot with the soap and cold water it will come out no problem.. then hang to dry. White dial soap gets tons of stains out.

    try vinegar mixed with cold can milk.half anf half.pour on stain and rub vigoursly.them wash out
