nail polish most of the time doesnt sink in to the carpet, it probably stayed on top right? well just sit there with a razor blade and scrape it off, had to do this with my carpet :) if it does sink in then id try this stuff called orange degreaser which you can get at lowes or home depot and mix it with bleach but only a little, hope it helps.

Do not use Bleach, it will permanently damage the carpet dyes. Your best bet, to protect your expensive investment in carpeting, is to call a pro carpet cleaner. The two products I use, come from a company called Pro’s Choice. They are Power Gel and Pro Solve Gel. Being gels, they will not get down deep into the carpet where a solvent can damage the adhesive. The pro also has the ability to rinse and extract the gels along with the dissolved nail polish from the carpet fibers. Go to this web site to locate a professional carpet cleaner who can save your carpet with out damageing it, providing this information is not to late, http://www.iicrc.org.

If this is nylon carpet, acetone on a white terry cloth towel may work, but first test in an inconspicious area like a corner of a closet to make sure the acetone does not damage or discolor carpet. Acetone is the main ingredient in nail polish remover. DO NOT USE BLEACH, it will cause the carpet to discolor
