Can you stain a coffee table with coffee?

I saw on TV that you can stain a coffee table with coffee. I'm not sure all the steps though. My coffee table is already a dark color, I just want it to look more finished and not like we got it at a garage sale :D . So do I have to sand and do all that stuff or just make the coffee and stain?

Im not 100% sure, but i think it would be best to sand the table down, and stain it, this way you are removing the top coat of dirt, stain, etc, and allowing your mixture to easily soak into the wood.

it seems like the logical way to do it, although it is a more time consuming way,

    And nice idea :)

You will have to remove the old finish sand it and go through all the steps. You can use coffee or anything that you can mix into a material that will penetrate and stain the wood. You can use tea, grape juice, wine, strawberry juice, etc…. This list goes on and on. You will still have to buy a commercial sealer like polyurethane to finish and seal the product once you are done though. Well i hope this answers your questions, and have a great day. By the way dont use Starbucks coffee, because it would be cheaper to go to Walmart and buy the stain. LOL
