Can you use a bleach solution as a carpet stain remover?

My pets had a few accidents on our light colored carpet. Is it possible/ok to mix bleach with water and use that to remove the stains? I've tried a couple other pet stain removers and they didn't seem to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Even when dilluted bleach can discolor your carpet. Use vinegar instead. It will kill the odor and freshen the carpet.

    No, I have done this and have permanent light spots on my cream colored carpet. (my dog had a litter of ten pups!) I went out and bought a Bissell carpet cleaner and use that at least twice a month if not more. It is worth the expense and will save your carpet.

    Don't use bleach. There's a product out there called Urine Off- Works better than anything else on the market. It comes with a black light to avoid the sniff test too !!!! Thankfully!! :)

    if you do, you will have discolored spots. there is a pet remover in most grocery stores, can't remember the name, but it is one that you put on, let soak for an hour or so, then vacuum up. it like breaks up what is causing the stain. if you can't find that, use vinager, or "wet ones" (wipes with alcohol in them, or the lysol wipes) the alcohol will help release the stain also

    no will definately ruin the carpet..what i always use and my mother always used is a little dawn dish liquid and some warm water! Works wonders i even used it to remove blood from my tan carpet when my dog got hurt and you can't even tell! Stick with the good ol' basics! Good Luck!

    Any amount of bleach is going to take color out of you carpet. Try white vinegar and a mild soap

    no please do not use the bleach mixture it will ruin your carpet but what i use is the shout laundry spray i spray it directly on the stain on the carpet let work in then wipe it up with a damp cloth let dry and then there is no stains no fading and i have light colored carpet also give it a shout you well love what it does for carpet stains
