White carpets! Boy you are asking for trouble. You can use vinegar or alcohol, but don’t count on results if the stains are old. They make solutions just for cleaning pet stains on carpets. Try that first; you can find them at pet stores everywhere.

when my last pet had that problem I used alcohol, windex, vinegar and such and the smells or mixture of smells are bad and it takes time to dry. I used woolite rug cleaner and it seemed to work but all the Woolites l(Woolite Rug and Upholstery cleaner..and it has two pets on the front of the plastic bottle) leave a slightly sticky after feel so my long haired cat got stuck and knotted fur. So I went to K-Mart and picked up some stuff I think it’s called Stop and that kills the odor and the pet is supposed to hesitate to return to that spot.

Ive heard of using vinegar, but IMO vinegar smells just as bad as the urine.

I use Natures Miracle, which has enzymes to remove the stain and smell. On a white rug Oxyclean would probably work, too.

(Whatever product you use, you need to soak the area sufficiently to get down into the padding, because the urine has. If you dont, the stain will just reappear).

Neither one will do much if any good. Vinegar is useless, alcohol can work on oily stains. Your best solution would be a can of carpet cleaner and a shop vac. Really the best would be to go to a janitorial supply and get extraction carpet detergent and use a shop Vac.
I owned a janitorial service for 20 yr. and a janitorial supply store after that.

You absolutely do not want to do what you are suggesting. All you will do is make it much worse.
