Laundry Stains Archives

It seems I get a lot of grey spots on my laundry when I wash and dry. I use to use a stick but it bleached the spots WHITE. I tried pouring the detergent on spots and rubbing together. Sort of worked on some things. I’ve been told it comes from the washing machine. I could really use some ideas.

The laundry is sorted by color. Darks from lights. Reds separated by themselves. Each load is washed with cold water and a high speed tumble. Clothing are air dried. No fabric softener is used. The detergent is Tide 2x ultra with bleach alternative color safe. The clothing is washed at a laundromat. When clothing is flipped inside out the stains have a majority on the inside and small amount on the outside. The stains do not occur every load. The laundry stains have been consistent despite the laundromat or washing machine that is used.
When clothing is washed outside out and inside in (natural orientation) the majority of the stains occur on the outside and a little bit on the inside

else doing my laundry because they would have access to their panties and underwear and even though it’s normal for people to get "secretions" on their underwear it would be embarrassing if they showed the world their urine, poop, blood and other stains. Or they might smell those dirty panties.

what is the best stain remover for colored fabrics?

I forget to mention my son has sensitive skin so I need something hypo-allergenic or that won’t break him out….sorry.

i play squash and club has service to wash clothes. can i pretreat underams so the shirts will be white.. what do i use to get rid of yellow underam stains

My cat tipped over my glass of water last night while I was asleep and it spilled all over my brown wooden laundry basket… I lifted the basket up this morning to clean the mess up but the basket left a brown ring on our creme carpet. How can I remove it?

I have heard alot the you can use peroxide to whiten clothes in the wash, and as a stain remover, but can you also use it to brighten colored clothes in the wash?

I stained my sweater with laundry detergent (I think). I just noticed it this morning when I went to go put it on. There are two large red circles (Tide laundry soap is my best guess). Any tips on getting this out??
Thanks for your help!

I do my husband’s laundry and notice from time to time some white residue on the front of his underwear. Could that be a natural discharge? Do guys get that? Or is that after sex discharge or something? I don’t want to ask him as he’ll think it is really bizarre that I am analyzing his undies. This is bothering me.

Silly me. The smell is truly horrid. I’ve rewashed them once so far and they still stink – I just want to know if I should keep trying or if they’re basically ruined. Oh, and any hints on how to eliminate such an odor would probably also be helpful. Thanks! :-)

I spilled some olive oil on a shirt awhile back and instead of me treating the stain, the shirt got thrown in with the other laundry and washed. Is there any way to get the stain out now? It’s one of my favorite cotton shirts.

Some were dark and one set of cropped pants was beige/tan. They look tie-dyed now. ): Any help? Thank you :)
I’ve already tried all this, thank you though. So far no really helpful answers :) .

I have some stain remover where you squeeze the gel on and then rub it in with a little brush before you put your laundry in the washer, but I have about a load of stuff that has stains and some have a couple little ones, so I don’t really feel like rubbing the gel into every stain on everything. Does anyone know of a stain remover I can buy to just put into the washer with the laundry soap?

A circle stain (about 2" diameter) has shown up on several white shirts after laundering. Looks like you set a dirty glass on the shirt. The shirts are usually laundered together, sometimes not. Noticed this a few weeks ago on a couple of shirts, now more are affected. Any ideas? Thanks!

I’v used a pet stain and oder remover but it stil there i have also used baking soda and viager in the rinse cycle

I just did some laundry and put on a shirt I had washed. The lights in my apt aren’t great and I noticed a slight discoloration stain which of course is highly visible in the harsh work lights and sunlight. How did this happen? My washing machine has pretty basic choices – small, med and large; temps – I can only choose warm and cold (no hot because I attach my washing machine to the kitchen sink) and cotton/sturdy, permanent press, wool and delicate. I basically use the cotton setting and warm/warm for almost everything. Thanks so much!!!

i took it to laundry but they couldn’t remove it.
