Cleaning up cat's dry food vomit carpet stain?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

My cat just threw up a ton of dry cat food for the first time and it’s all over the carpet. I tried to clean it by picking up the solid parts with paper towels. After that I finish vacuuming it and putting hot water on it. I cleaned up most of it but there’s still a little stain on the carpet. Any advice will help, thanks !

You can use soap and lukewarm water and dab it with a paper towel or let it soak into the stain. You can also use a bit of vinegar which loosens up the stain. Or the last thing you can do is call the carpet cleaners.

You know I don’t usually answer these sorts of questions… But my wife and kids have forced me to have two cats, and I am not an animal person for exactly this reason. They are dirty. That said, what absolutely works the best is pure and simple Ammonia. Just take a little ammonia and put like 1/3 ammonia to 2/3 water. Then take a towel (not a paper towel a real one). Soak the towel. Blot it on the carpet where it is stained. Then, take a DRY towel and blot it up dry. Repeat as much as necessary. DO NOT RUB. BLOT. This worked best for us when we used to have carpets. Now we have hard wood / pergo flowers. Thank Goodness!

You are left with a dye stain. The ammonia trick posted above should work well.
