    I like Oxi Clean for stains. It doesn’t affect the color of the garment any more than normal washing would. It isn’t the detergent that shrinks clothes, it’s the heat of the water that might do that, or else the heat in the dryer.

    Most laundry detergents wear away color and shrink fabrics. To prevent this I recommend using Tide True Color, or Woolite for colors. Other than the two mentioned most shrink and fade. Sorry, hun!

    All brands will shrink your clothes and make them loose color unless you wash them properly.

    Cold on the gentle cycle, put your jeans inside out and that’ll prevent fading and shrinkage. Use a little less laundry detergent then suggested, and every week or so use white distilled vinegar in place of fabric softener. That’ll get rid of the soap build-up you have.

    If you want a brand that gets rid of stains really well, I recommend Tide with Bleach. However, that’s the most hyperexpensive one you can buy, so you can also get All or Gain.
