No some of them a pretty useless – I got an empty water spray bottle and mixed on part vinegar to four parts water and sprayed the area and it soon got rid of the smells

stuff called kids and pets does work, for stubborn stains needs to stay on longer. I was never able to find stuff that worked, went through every possible cleaner you could name that was on the shelf, parents introduced me to this stuff. knew it would not work, but it does.

i used my bissel steam cleaner and use the pet and odor detergent made for it.

Not all of them. Use them to remove the bacteria after you clean up the main mess, and after the cleaning solution sprinkle some baking soda on the spot and let it sit for a few days before vacuuming it up. If it still slightly smells repeat the baking soda and sprinkle some ground cloves after you vacuum. Usually you have to remove the piece and just replace it. But yeah, we use baking soda and it works.

They mainly help remove money from your wallet. Urine often leaves no stain, just the odor. And for that, you need special treatments. There are two approaches. An enzyme solution breaks down the odor causing material, and they take up to several weeks to completely work. But, they have an orange scent in it, to keep your cat away and mask the odor while the enzymes are working. A cheap and effective approach is with vinegar, and I have posted a link.

Some are actually pretty good. Don't go with an off- brand product, "Billy-Bobs-smell-away" might not work as well as a known product line. One problem is also location of the pee. just cuz you saw the cat pee here doesn't mean he didn't pee there. If you spray and clean one spot you may miss another. Kinda tough to track an odor with a merely human nose, you gotta spray everything. I like what Kamdren said about cloves, gonna try that.
