Does anyone know how to get those spots out of your dark laundry?

I have a spot on my dark jeans that I think is from pouring the laundry detergent directly onto them. I always run the water while I pour just so that won’t happen but some must have gotten onto them. Or else it’s a grease spot. I have tried everything, washing them in hot water, and stain sprays. Maybe someone has a home remedy even. That would be great. Has anyone else found this to happen when they pour the liquid laundry deterent directly onto a dark load of wash??
No, the spots are darker than the dark material.

Before washing, pour some liquid laundry detergent directly on the stain.

most will tell you to pre soak. if you are good at doing laundry you can always take a tub of sum sort and soak it in delooted bleech water. thats what i do to get out the hard stains like blood or mildew.

I’m not sure how to get the stain out, but if the stain is from pouring the detergent directly onto the fabric, try starting the water BEFORE you load the clothes in, and pour the detergent in, too. Once the washer fills up about 1/3 of the way with water, and there are suds in it, then you can load the clothes in. It’ll prevent direct contact of the detergent and clothing.

And if you ever get stains, don’t wash in hot water – the stain will only set in hot water.
Always rinse in cold water and use a stain remover or detergent. (Make sure you rub the stain with your hands and rinse it in cold water, then put a little more stain remover on it and wash.)

Get a little bottle of Shout stain remover, apply some to the dark spot with fabric wet, rub it in with the applicator, let it stand for 15-20 minutes then wash it.

Dark spots are probably grease, not detergent (detergent with bleach in it may leave a light spot, not dark).

Stanley Home Products also has a great orange stain remover that works on anything. You can find them online or search for a local dealer.

Try a paste of Biz and water directly on the spot before you wash them. It is an enzyme cleaner and if the darkspot is oil it will really do the trick

I have always heard that the best way to get them out is to rub them with a bar soap (like dove).

Edit-I also found this article that does recommend bath soap or white vinegar.

There is a handwashing product called Goop. It costs a buck! It is wonderful for getting out set in stains, especially grease stains. I get goop at dollar stores and probably wal mart. Try it, if it doesn’t work on this it sure will next time you get a real grease stain.

    Hope you get it out!
