Does it make me seem trashy/ditzy to wear blue green nail polish? (I'm 24)?

I’m almost 24 years old and am a first year second grade teacher. My natural nails are about half an inch long.

Red nail polish always stains my nails and flakes. Pink looks dumb to me since it’s still winter, Black seems goth
(and looks bad on long nails) and white you can’t even see.

So I painted my nails this really pretty blue green. It doesn’t chip, stain or look dumb.

But I’m worried that my fiancee’s coworkers (he’s in the military), my own co-workers, parents of my students and other people won’t take me seriously if they see my nails.
Amt: My birthstone is Blue Topaz (blue green) so wtf? How is that an ugly color?

i think that you should stick to natural colours during the week, i dont think that wearing blue nail polish would help you maintain a professional image. maybe on weekends, or during the summer you could wear more expressive colours, but natural colours like pink would be best.
but if you really want to punch up your nail colour though, and keep it appropriate for work, why not try a lilac or lavender colour?

    nope.
    it’s hawt
and it’s just a nail polish color.
not like anyone is going to judge you or your personality or intelligence on that..

I think it’s fine, especially since you’re only 24. And I know that I hate teachers who are old and stuff so, when you wear that you seem young and cool and stuff.

I see nothing wrong with it :]

stick with a french manicure or like a burgendy color…thats more "professional" or "older"

Why do you care what other people think about you? If you like it, they won’t say anything.

not to judge but to me blue green is kind of juvenile so I really don’t think you will be taken seriously. and to me blue, green or anything that resembles a bruise just makes your nails look like they are dying. just my opinion

I think some people will frown on it but that’s just because they fear the unknown. If you can get your personality to shine they will hardly notice your nails. If anyone commented on it I would say the children really like it. I wear a plethora of colors on my nails even blue/green. You can also get a topcoat nail polish to top the colors that chip.

    It’s not an ugly color.
    Blue/Green (turoquoize) is really pretty
and if you like it, it doesnt matter
anyways id rather have a teacher with awesome nails and style then one who had clean nails and no style hahaa

for you yourself to know, it doesnt make you trashy but but think about your students and there parents cause kids pick up a lot from grown ups

its not an ugly color- I wear it on my toe nails, but I’m 15… so thats where the differences come in. Its cool for teens to have a funky color on their nails but for a 24 year old successful career woman (even as a young child teacher) there are much better choices. Red is one of the best all year round. you could try a different brand of polish or get them with pink and white gels. it can be expensive but if its done right it looks professional wont let your nails chip and it does not chip either. hope this helps

its just nail polish and as long as your nails arent chipped it shall be fine

  16. mira_shia says:

TRY OPI NAILPOLISHES THEY DONT CHIP GREEN IS NO GOOD UNLESS ITS ST. PATRICKS DAY..LOL FRENCH IS REALLY SEXY AND PRETTY. AND IT GOES WITH ANYTHING YOU WEAR

  17. Michelle F says:

I have also tried an aqua-blue color called "Azure For Sure" by OPI and I thought it rocked!

It’s not a typical color, and that’s why I liked it. I suspect that it would not look that great on just anyone, but for me, it was not only eye-catching, but my husband gave me two thumbs up (I painted his thumbs too…he he)!

Kudo to you for trying something creative and different. You are the type of person the world needs more of!
