If it has acetone in it, it will RUIN carpet. If not prolly not

  3. A Day Not To Remember says:

Depend on the color of the carpet. Nail polish remover is designed to remove color with strong acids.
If your carpet is white, you’ll be fine.
If you have colored carpet, it will possibly lighten or fade the color.

I don’t think so but DO NOT try to get nail Polish out of the carpet with nail Polish remover.

  5. Stacey M says:

Depends on the colour really, like if you have a dark coloured carpet or something like blue, red or something the colour is going to fade a bit, but if it is cream or white carpet you should be absolutely fine.

(It does say on most nail polish remover bottles that it can take a bit of colour out of the carpet). :)

Acetone is not considered an acid, but rather a solvent. If this solvent penetrates in to the carpeting, it will soften and damage the adhesive backing. If you have nail polish in your carpet, then salvage this expensive investment by calling a carpet cleaning professional, who can remove this stain with special gels and rinsing and extraction. If by stain you mean utterly destroys non-white/beige carpet (to the person who wrote that they had no problems with their white/beige carpet: DUH!). Nail polish remover is designed to eat through plastic and remove color…don’t ever use it to clear glue off of plastic frame eyeglasses either.

    no, blood does.
