Embedded Stain on Countertop?

There was a plastic Wal Mart bag on my counter top. It got wet and sat on the counter top for about 2 days. Now there is the imprint Wal Mart on my counter top. How can I get it out. Right along with some embedded Kool Aid stains.

I’ve been where you are. I have successfully removed pink drink stains, bag transfers and coffee stains. I have also restored a 20 year old laminate counter top to nearly new appearance all with plain old Soft Scrub. Just squirt a bit onto the stain then spread it around in a layer over the entire area. Come back about an hour later and wipe at it. If the stain is gone, just rinse off the rest of the product. If not, just wait longer…it will go away eventually!

Trust me…I’ve done this many, many times! Oh, and use the Soft Srcrub with bleach. I imagine plain bleach would work the same, but it wouldn’t stay put on the stain like the thicker Soft Scrub product does.

Javex… if the counter is arborite it should come right out, used straight. Don’t use your favorite dish cloth to wipe it as you might mark your cloth. just use paper towel.

if it is wood without a finish, the same… use the Javex straight but fast. Then do it again, always watching to make sure it doesn’t mark the wood

If the wood surface is a finished one. don’t use Javex. I would have to think about that smiles.

Use bleach, let it sit for a few minutes and the stains should come right off.

Bon Ami works great. You may have to let it soak. You can also try Softscrub or a product like that & let it soak.

Try a Mr Clean magic eraser. Located in the cleaning products isle of your local supermarket. They are amazing and inexpensive too.

What is the counter top made of?

I would try alcohol on the Wal-Mart bag ink. At least I think it is ink. Hair spray with alcohol has been used to get ink spots out for ages.

For the koolaid stain use a mixture of half ammonia half water. If you don’t have ammonia.. try some Windex.
