Getting out an old olive oil stain.?

I spilled some olive oil on a shirt awhile back and instead of me treating the stain, the shirt got thrown in with the other laundry and washed. Is there any way to get the stain out now? It’s one of my favorite cotton shirts.

You could try automotive hand cleaner. "GoJo" is a genric name for the product. An oil is an oil. My gf showed me this trick, by taking some of the cream and smearing it in directly on the affected area. Then wash with regular wash.

"goop," a hand cleaner found at hardware stores. If they don’t have that brand, look for hand cleaner mechanic’s use that has solvents to break down oil and grease. Rub it in and let it sit, then wash in the warmest water possible.

My aunt has a favorite colored shirt she got cooking oil on. After trying to get it out to no avail, she put the whole shirt in the cooking oil and then laundered. It changed the color of the shirt a little, but you can’t find the original stain. Good Luck!
