Help with carpet stain? I accidently dropped bleach on my carpet any solutions on how to repair?

My son was playing around and spilled bleach on my carpet (don’t ask). Well I bought a Rite dye (taupe-color of carpet) and tried it and it was way too dark/not taupe. So now I have a 6×6 inch square of bleach and dark brown any way I can fix either or both of these problems? I don’t want to spend the thousand dollars to fix this.

    I use to Detail Cars…There was a carpet paint that you could buy in the auto parts shops. I have used it to fix such problems when bleach was spilled in cars coming from the laundromat.

    You can replace the area where the problem is but it won;t ever be as good as replacing the whole carpet, sorry.

    Unfortunatley there is nothing you can do to fix this problem, that I know of. Do you have any matching spare off cuts of carpet? If so cut it down to the size you want and cut out the stained peice and replace with the off cut. If not depending where it is try covering it with a rug or a peice of furniture. If not go and see a carpet dealer. They maybe able to give you some advise, or get an off cut of the same carpet, without spending a fortune.

    Oh I am sorry, No, there is no way of fixing this mishap, you might try however use some carpet dye or have a carpet man come and dye your carpet for you, this won't be inexpensive however, you might even try to wash some of this dye out with Dawn dishwashing liquid to fade some of the color that might help, or perhaps you could try Rit color remover on it, they use this on clothes but it could possibly work on your situation, try it this could not possibly hurt anymore than it already has done, actually what I would do depending on if I had a piece of carpet remnant I would cut out the piece of carpet that has been damaged with the bleach and cut to size the carpet remnant slide this in and glue it down where the damaged piece was.

    I would also like to suggest this tip for next time once you repair your carpet, Discontinue use of Bleach there is a alternative you can use to bleach so you won't have to be more cautious next time when handling the bleach, Use one cup of White Vinegar to the washer with your clothes in the hottest water clothes can handle without detergent, Vinegar will remove the stains and whiten your whites even whiter than bleach and is less caustic than bleach and far better for your health than bleach, Vinegar is an all purpose cleaner/degreaser removes stains, disinfects, cleans and can be used on all surfaces, will not harm your clothes or washing machine, it will actually clean and remove any residues left by detergents clean out limescale and keep your pipes and hoses clear and will also help your washer to clean better once it is cleaned with the vinegar, it also deodorizes, and to top it off it is less expensive to use as you will not need any fabric softner as vinegar softens your clothes and leaves them static free and smelling fresh and will not leave any perfumes behind, I have been using Vinegar for years to clean my whole house and wash my laundry my home smells and looks cleaner than any commercial type cleaner has ever made and my clothes have lasted much longer, it also will stop reds from running and will remove colors that have ruined other clothes even removes soap scum from bath and showers.
