How can i get a blood stain out of a carpet?

i fell last night and hit my head on the sliding door track, now i have a big blood stain on the carpet. Are there any household items or tricks as to how i can get this big stain out? thanks.

    a mixture of baking soda and water will get the visible residue out, however, it is impossible to fully remove the entire stain. the hemoglobin will always be there, but it can only be seen under UV and blacklight.

    liquid Oxyclean (you'll find it in the laundry section near Spray N Wash).

    I've gotten everything out of my carpet with it, including red wine and it helped when I removed nail polish too.

    Try hydrogen peroxide. It'll take blood out of almost anything.

    i just got blood on my carpet & it came right up , even though it was dried .
