How can I get a pen stain and a coffee stain out of my jeans?

Should I just throw my jeans in the washer, or use regular laundry detergent to rub the stains off manually BEFORE putting them in the wash? One is a pen stain, one is a coffee stain.

Thanks in advance!

I would rub stain remover over both the areas and remove the pen stain with baking soda and laundry soap mixed. Rub into the pen stain and coffee stain and allow to sit for a little while before putting it into the wash. If the pen stain does not come out use some ammonia to loosen the pen and baking soda. Then use vinegar and water to wipe it off.
    Best of luck

You can remove the ink with WD-40™. WD-40 is a product available at your local hardware store.

WD-40 is normally used to lubricate doors and joints that creak but it also removes ink. It will probably remove the coffee stain, too.

Spray the mark with WD-40. Allow to sit at least a half an hour. Then launder as usual. Repeat if necessary. Do not machine dry the jeans until all ink is gone. Machine drying sets stains.

If the WD-40 leaves an oil mark, you can then remove this with dish washing liquid. Rub a little into the mark. Allow to sit a half an hour. Then launder as usual.

You can use Club Soda on stains. Cheap and effective.
