How can I get an old urine stain out of my carpet?

My son had a friend spend the night about 5 years ago and he wet on the carpet. I have my carpets cleaned every year so they are still in very good condition. The problem is no company yet has been able to get out the stain. And it shows up worse after each cleaning!

    Here is a method recommended for dog urine. It may work if you have not already tried it. You do not need to buy anything expensive so it is worth a try. The ingredients you need are baking soda, vinegar, dish washing liquid, and hydrogen peroxide. This should work on both the stain and any residual odor. Many people swear by various commercial products and you could buy something from a pet store or from a vet, but this recipe should work just as well and won't cost as much.

    If this doesn't work is it possible to remove that section of carpet and replace it? I have done that when my children spilled Kool Aid on a new carpet, but possibly the replacement piece would look different when the carpet is older.

    pruduct called Urine Gone. Abcdistributing and ltd commodities carried in the past- not sure if they still have. Contact your local pet store or Pet Smart. They will fix you up. Good Luck.

    Cut your losses and put down new carpet and the next generation of little dribblers leave them at there moms and dads houses unless they pay you and have enough pampers.

    Spot Shot, it's this spray stuff I get at Wal-Mart I know it works on old animal urine because I used it at an old boyfriends house, his dog had pee stains all over the carpet, I used the Spot Shot and got them ALL out. It really works good.

    Try Walmart they have a stuff for urine of animals, I think the name is" SPOTS" or if that is not successful try the nearest pet store they should have something good luck

    Get tile or wooden floors. They are more sanitary. Otherwise, just shampoo your carpet on a regular basis.

    Food Stains

    Coffee, Juice and Wine Stains:

    These are some of the most common types of stains. To get rid of them, use a clean terry cloth or white paper towels to blot up all of the excess liquid that you have. Do not scrub. Next, apply club soda to the area. Then, after a few seconds of sitting, you will want to again blot out the stain with clean, dry paper towels. Next, do the same thing but with clean water to rinse the area. Finally, if these things do not work to remove the stain, apply hydrogen peroxide to the area and let it sit. Blot off any excess liquid there.

    Chocolate or Ice Cream:

    Yes, these wind up on your floor too. To remove them, mix one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with one cup of water. Apply to a clean terry cloth and then to the area. Blot as much as possible with dry, clean paper towels or terry cloths. Repeat this process until all of the stain has been successfully removed.

    Grease or Oily Stains:

    These are some of the worst stains to clean up. But, you can do it. Apply a non oily, non caustic dry cleaning solvent to the area. Use only a small amount. You should check to make sure that this product will not stain the carpet itself by testing it in a hidden area first. Rinse the area with warm water and blot it dry.
