How can I get candle wax out of a place mat from dinner at thanksgiving?

I had a candle lite dinner (no light over table) blew the candles out…the puddle of wax went every wear…on the wood table ( I ironed that with a towel ) but the cloth mats did not release the wax stain. Now what?

    use a hairdryer or heat gun to melt the wax and a paper towel to pick it up when it is liquid.

    ammonia is a wax remover get all you can remove with heat then use ammonia

    put it in the freezer for about 1/2 hr then use a stiff brush to brush it out

    Like Rob said to get the wax off then use dish soap to remove the greasy residue. I would fill the sink with hot dish water(dish soap and water) then soak it for about an hour then wash as normal. This has worked for me. Hope it helps.
