How can I get rid of a 4 month old banana liquid stain on my carpet? What is the best solution. Thanks!?

Unfortunately I left a bag of bananas on my carpet while going away for business.

Now after 4 months I go back to my place and find this huge disgusting stain on my carpet. It is all dried up and I hope there is still a way to get it out.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use a stain remover called Spot Shot. It is in an orange and blue can. It works well on a lot of stains, but I’ve never had a banana liquid stain…good luck.

My parents keep a bottle of vodka just for carpet stains. It really works!! – if vodka won’t take it out then grab a cup, take a few shots, you won’t care too much! lol
I’ve tried the Spot Shot also – it seems to work pretty well but the vodka can be so much more fun!
I’ve also used just plain ‘windex’ on carpet spills – got kool-aid out. Try a small spot before you spray too much!

    Hi
I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot water (almost to the boiling point) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet). If the stain is still visible than use a little carpet spotter on it or Dawn dishwashing liquid (2 or 3 drops into one cup of water) and repeat step 1. The stain may come back in a few days so you may have to do this a few times. Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet. At this point if the stain is still there please call a carpet cleaner.
