For some reason one of my cats has been taking a potty on the carpet. there are poop stains and I cant seem to get it out, I tried the RESOLVE Pet Stain removal but it doesnt work. WHat should I use that would be more effective to old poop stains that I couldnt remove of the carpet??

    Woolite Oxy Deep works for me. Also, for the smell of cat urine, try something lemon scented, like Febreze, after you clean it so the smell won’t remain. Evidently lemon keeps them from using that portion of the carpet again.

    Invest in a shop vac and go to the bet store and buy a pet stain remover like Simple Solution or Nature’s Miracle.

    In the future, for the fecal matter, immeadiately pour warm water on the area and suck it up with the shop vac. It should get it right out.

    About your cat. Cat’s are strange creatures and will go where they aren’t supposed to if they are upset about something, don’t like the scent of their litter, don’t like the location of their litter box, don’t think it’s clean enough, or if they’re ill and can’t get to the box.

    Take the cat to the vet for a checkup just to be safe.

    Cat urine, like all urine, is made up of three ingredients:

    Urea – the sticky component

    Urochrome – this gives the urine it’s amber color

    Uric acid – crystals that carry the scent
    First of all, fresh cat urine is almost odorless. Unless you step in a wet spot you probably will not be aware of your cat’s problem until urine has had a chance to dry, leaving a concentrated level of uric acid behind. Even after cleaning and removing the first two ingredients – to a point where you no longer smell the urine – a cat will easily detect the odor and continue to mark the same spot. Additionally, when it rains or when the sun shines on the spot, the homeowner and guests will be treated to a whiff you had hoped never to smell again.

    If the urine is fresh, blot the spot. DO NOT RUB.

    Saturate the spot with cold water.

    Blot again. DO NOT RUB.

    Repeat this process a second time. (This is to ensure you have gotten all of the excess “fresh” urine out of the carpet.)

    Test the carpet with white vinegar. If it does not harm the carpet pour a cup of white vinegar directly on the spot.

    Blot. DO NOT RUB.

    Repeat the process two more times to ensure you have gotten down to the carpet pad and floorboards.
    What Not to Do When Cleaning Cat Urine:

    Do not use ammonia.

    Do not cover with flowery scents.

    Do not assume because you can’t smell it that the urine is gone.

    Do not allow the cat in the room until the urine odor has been removed or the cat will reuse the spot.

    If possible, the floorboards should be covered with two coats of KILZ or two coats of polyurethane. The best advice for a homeowner with a territory-marking cat is to remove the carpet entirely from the room said cat “marked” and go with a nice floor paint, instead.     Use the oxy clean but use Hot water with it or it won’t work. The hotter the better and use immediately after mixing, soak it thoroughly. After a few minutes take an old towel and put it over the spot and walk on it firmly. Move the towel around so you get as much moisture up as possible, Repeat procedure until no more comes out of the carpet. When finished don’t walk on it again until it dries completely or any remaining stains from below will wick back to the top.
    Cover favorite pooping spots with tin foil, so the cat will avoid the spot. Any remaining odor will have them right back there.

    I just recent experience where my dog diarrhea all over the carpet and my mom (because I was on vacation) just let it untouched for four days until I came back because she thought it was too gross. I used this stuff my dad had Quick and Brite and it got out 98% of the stain.. you can still see a slight discoloration, but I was really amazed. It says it will work on old stains too. I just bought some for my house to try it on some older animal stains… I got it on line.

    PetZyme works great – you can find it at PetSmart. I would have the cat checked out by a vet – it’s not normal for a cat to stop using its litter box. Are you keeping it clean or letting the poop pile up in there? A lot of cats don’t like having to step over yesterday’s poops – would you?

    Either use enzymatic cleaning products, or make your own cleaning solution, by mixing 10% biological (enzymatic) washing powder/liquid with warm water.
