Spot Clean using liquid cleaning agents specifically for carpets. First try the liquid agent in a not-so-noticeable part of the rug to see if it reacts negatively. If it still doesn’t work for you, you can rent a machine to steam clean, just like how professionals do it.=)

    Hope it helps.=)

Oh my…have you tried Goof Off or Goo Gone? Goof Off is less oily and might be the first thing to try. If not, you might have to patch the carpet – cut out the stained patch and put in some new…the place you bought it from should be able to help you.

Get a can of acetone from the hardware store and apply and keep blotting with paper towels until the stain is gone. Pour 91% isopropyl alcohol(next to rubbing alcohol at the drugstore)and blot with paper towels. This will help dry the carpet and pad.
You can try paint thinner but it’s highly flammable and I don’t suggest using it on a carpet. The acetone should work along with the alcohol.
