Put some liquid laundry soap on it and roll it up and let it set a few days then wash. Unless of course it has to be dry cleaned, then you will have to take it in! Show them the spot!

Depending on the material, I’d be nervous about trying anything at home – generally prom dresses are made of a material that might show a ‘water’ spot if you tried a tide pen or something like that. It may cost a few dollars, but int he long run would be worth taking it to the dry cleaners for them to treat it the way the material needs to be treated.

It depends on the fabric. I’m thinking tafetta? Cold filtered or distilled water to begin w/. Stain removers can bleach out certain fabrics. Go to the cleaners asap.

Apply Dawn dish detergent to the spot or take it to the dry cleaner.

If the dress is cotton or silk then you can use petrol. In order to avoid reshes to your hand first wear gloves. Then take a bit of petrol and rub it on the affected area with a soft brush. Rub it with a piece of cloth( but not very hard). Leave it to dry in sun. Use regular detergent and wash the dress in luke warm water( after you’ve kept the dress under sun for at least 30 mins). See the results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
