How can I remove a coffee stain from my purse?

I spilled my coffee on my white purse this morning…any ideas on how to remove it?

    What kind of material is it Greta?

    Anyway, it depends on what the purse is made of. If it's leather you don't want to use bleach. There are special cleaners for leather and suede that work great. Coach sells one that's nice.

    If it's cotton or jacquard I would try a very little bit of vinegar or soda water on the spot (not like Coke..but clear soda water you can get in the mixed drink section or water section of your grocery store). If you use vinegar use very little and know that it will smell funny for a little while.

    Worse case…get it dry cleaned or take it to a place that cleans leather (if it's leather).

    I would avoid bleach or soap of any kind. Look at the label though..maybe you can just wash it in the washing machine. In that case use a little bit of Oxiclean or Simple Green to get it out (see directions on both for good results).

    I worked in a bakery and we use to wash our chef coats in simple green and dry dish washer soap..worked great for grease stains, but coffee is mostly water and should come out with gentel cleaners.

    If it’s cloth Greta, I usually rinse it with cold water asap. Even if it’s later, try cold water first. Then I use something like Shout Stick or a small mixture of oxi clean and leave it set over night. Usually it will come out. I have a bad record with spilling coffee and that’s what works for me. =o`)

    use Dawn dish detergent. It gets out ALL stains related to food
