Just wet the carpet with regular water. Before the water dries shoke it up with a towel. Get repeating until the entire stain is out. I would tell you to use soap and water, but there will be no way of getting the soap from out of the carpet. If you leave the soap in the carpet it would make the car stink and make the floor sticky. It actually works because I had orange juice on by floor that was there for like 3 weeks and one day I accidentally spilled water and I layed a towel down so nobody would notice and what do you know it came up.

You can rent a rug washer (with an upholstery attachment) from a hardware store. Or if it’s really bad, just pay to have it detailed.

Try laundry soap…thats what I use to clean my carpets…it works great and smells good too!!! =]

Hydrogen peroxide mixed with baking soda and a toothbrush…leave for two minutes and pat dry with wet cloth until stain comes out…

EVERYONE HAS TO STOP USING ALL IN ONE SPRAY CLEANERS. Maybe you have one you swear by, but in my experience, these are almost always formulated to work on multiple types of stains, which means rather than working really well for one stain, they work okay for many. NO GOOD, besides, spraying doesnt do anything when it’s deep under the rug, and possibly in the pad. On top of all this, the chemicals in these cleaners often PREVENT future possibility of cleansing as they may make the stain colorfast due to the amount of crap put in them.

TO REMOVE THE OLD SODA STAIN YOU NEED TO DO A DEEP CLEANING. If its wall to wall, get ready with many, many towels and soak in the ingredients as called for on rugrag – just select urine in the drop box, the stain removal is custom created for your type of rug. We were suggested by our local professional to use this in emergencies, it’s worked fabulous.

Make sure you soak up everything with towels – USE YOUR WEIGHT, stand on them, rotate them when they’re moist and keep doing it. If it takes less than 30 minutes, you havent done it right. Especially with cats, they’ll only keep coming back for more once they’ve gone in one area.

It’s worked for us with soda, gum, even ink once too.
