How can I remove mouthwash stains from wood?

I am moving out of a house and need to clean it top to bottom to gt my security deposit back. Unfortunately one of the housemates has left red mouthwash stains on the wooden part of the bathroom cabinet and there are also some blue soap stains. They have been there a while and I really need them removed, any ideas will be MUCH appreciated.

Cheers guys.

****might be tough since a lot of mouth wash has alcohol in it. Have you tried to paint it? Sand it down and put a nice clean coat of paint on it.

First, use a scrub brush to take off any toothpaste and soap residue. If you scrub the entire door or surface with a cleaner like dish-soap, you will loosen and remove a lot of crud, and avoid leaving bleached-stains.

If the scrub brush doesn’t lighten the stains, try a steel-wool pad — again, don’t concentrate on just the small stain, but spread it.

Don’t just squirt on bleach-containing cleaners and imagine that the stain will disappear — bleach will fade the wood, too.
