Water and washing up liquid didn’t work.

Berber is such a difficult carpet, trust me, I had it!
I would use a water/dish detergent mixture… a bit more water though. If it’s a lighter color berber (mine was white) use a dash of bleach, or if it’s colored, you could use some color safe bleach.
Scrub it in with a tooth brush or something course, then blot dry. Repeat if necessary! If you keep at it, it will come out eventually, but if you leave it be, it will become a big nasty reminder of how berber is beautifully evil!~

Follow the directions on the back of Oxi-Clean for carpets. I have berber carpet and I don’t seem to have any problems cleaning it. I spilled red wine on my carpet. I mixed up the Oxi-Clean in a spray bottle, sprayed the area, let it set for a couple of minutes then I used a clean white cloth to dab the stain up and it practically will disappear as you’re spraying it. And by the way the color of the carpet is white.
