how cani get a water stain out of a gold lamp shade?

    Unfortunately, water once it makes a ring is next to impossible to remove because what you are seeing is the mineral deposits when the liquid dried. If you add more liquid, whether it be water or detergent, you will not be able to remove it and will probably make it worse (detergents leave a residue that will attract dirt and dust thus making a mystery stain latter)

    I am a big fan of disguising imperfections. Is there any way to add gimp, other fabric, ribbon, fringe, lace, embellishments on the shade to distract the eye from the water ring? Some lamp shade fabrics can be painted with fabric paint, but not if they are silk, damask or any other slick fabrics made of man-made fibers (they don’t take dye or paint well).
