I just moved into my apartment about 2 months ago, I was cleaning my vacumme cleaner tank out with bleach cause it had mold in it and as I was pouring the bleach, some got into the tube that has no bottom and spilled threw the cracks of the table onto the floor! The carpet is one big peice type carpet! I can afford to be asked to replace the entire carpet when I move! Any suggestions?? Thanks!! :-(

Two ways. Bleach doesn’t come out. Use vinegar to neutralize the bleach and get a close dye, and dab it on. Or have a carpet installer pull a piece out of a closet and fix it and replace the closet with a close rem

Depending on the age and color of the carpet it may be possible to dye it.

Sometimes carpet can be cut from a place like the inside of a closet and the damaged section cut out and replaced with the closet section. Any carpet person can do that. You will then need to buy a very small piece of carpet to put back in the closet. Do it all at once and it shouldn’t cost too much.

Whatever you do, don’t cut out the carpet where it has been bleached. There’s actually a product that can help fix this to be almost like brand new. Below is the website.

    I hope it helps.

Bleach stains are permanent, but sometimes you can cover the stain with a marker the same shade as the rest of the carpet.
