How do I fix my black shirt with a bleach stain on it?

I love this black shirt.

Also, it’s brand spankin new.

Problem is, there are 2 quarter size bleach stains at the bottom of it. (Which are very noticeable on a black shirt) It’s 91% cotton, 9% spandex. I thought about possibly dying it, but have never done it before and don’t even know if that will work.

Any suggestions?

SHARPIE. Black. and let it sit for a long while before you actually wash it, to make sure it is dry and won’t get on other clothes or come out. Just stick the marker tip against the fabric and let it soak in there til it gets close to the edges. If that doesn’t work I don’t think anything will except maybe cutting a strip out of the bottom of the shirt and then hemming it – it will be a little shorter, of course. I stink at sewing so I would probably get a seamstress to do that.

buy a permanent black market and go to work on it. or buy some black clothes dye and dye the shirt.

The only way I can think of to conceal it would be to dye those small areas. A bleach stain is permanent and cannot be taken out of the fabric. It can only be concealed.

You could try and use rit dye. More than likely though it will not come out to a perfect match. It would look better than the bleach spots though.

It’s usually not possible to repair bleach stains, but I would try a black permanent marker and see if the color will set. Good luck.

Yeah, you can dye it, with so much cotton, it will work.

Dying it should work. Make sure you dye it in your sink, not washing machine. Or try using a magic marker

You could dye it. Try the kinda you put in the wash. You can pick it up in the laundry aisle at any store. Also, coloring it in with a black sharpie works great too.

  17. Lori E says:

Dying it will work if you follow the directions on the dye bottle and do it the right way. Dying it is the only way you can repair the damage of a bleach mark.

get it dyed… if all else fails…

I have used a sharpie marker to fix black jeans. It doesn’t wash out. Hopefully your skirt will be the same color of black. Good luck.

Get fabric dye and a smal paint brush and blend it in. keep going over it until it matches. Wash it and see if it is gone. If not continue. You have to set the dye with a hot iron.

Put the shirt under your pillow before bed and little elves will come fix it.

Carefully cut the shirt into 4 equal size pieces and go wash the car with them.

Pantone permanent markers ( check artist supply stores ) come in every imaginable color and can be used to repair "bleached" spots in fabrics. Lucky for you, black isn’t too hard of a color to match.
