How do I get a Big Red stain out of carpet?

There’s an old Big Red (soda) stain on the carpet in my room. I need to clean it up now because I know my parents will be pissed if they see it. The carpet is light tan, so it’s really noticeable.

Will pouring a bottle of resolve on it help?

Thanks

You have a food grade acid dye on the carpet. Do not touch it. Call a professional hot water carpet cleaner who has a product made to remove such a stain. The one I use is called Red Relief. We spray it on the stain, lightly brush and tap it in, place a white terry cloth towel over it and steam it with an iron. The solution is then rinsed and extracted from the carpet. Go to http://www.iicrc.org., to locate a pro near you. There are no topical magic wand spotting solutions, just call a pro. You may make the stain unremovable by messing with it.

Formula 409 is good for getting stains out of carpet.
Resolve might do the trick too.
