How do I get a pinkish stain out of what was a white quilt?

Have you ever put a white shirt in the laundry and it came out pink? I had washed a baby quilt that I intend to use for my baby, but my mother washed it and now the white on the quilt is now pink. It’s very important to me and it is an older quilt and cannot find another like it. Does anyone have any tricks to get something like this out?

Carbona makes a color remover, it’s in a cardboard box, in the detergent isle at most stores like Wal Mart. I’ve only used it once and it did fade the pink a bit, but it still has a slight tint to it, perhaps a second use would have done the trick, but it wasn’t worth it to me to try. In your case, it may be worth trying it twice.

You might try some of those color removal sheets that you throw in the washer to help take out the pink. You might also try lemon juice and put in the sun for awhile. It might help whiten it back up.
