How do I get mold stains out of material?

I’m trying to sell my RV and one of my wonderful kids left one of the windows cracked. Well, now I have mold and mildew stains on the fabric of the dining room cushions. What can I use to take the black stains out or do I have to totally replace the material?

    No no no.

I have had many YA users email me and tell that they successfully removed mildew by applying vinegar.

Vinegar works because it is acid and mold requires an alkaline ph to live in.

The other way is to use 3% hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
You buy a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide at the drug store and you check that it has not expired.
This works because 3% hydrogen peroxide and baking soda release oxygen and oxygen is reactive so it bonds with mold and breaks the mold up.

Remove the cushions and soak them overnight in vinegar and hot water..then wash as normal. Hang them on the line to dry. If they are still stained you can try washing them with 1 cup peroxide…be-warned that the peroxide may bleach them slightly…do not pour it directly on the fabric.
