  1. Just guessing says:

Carefully ‘pinch blot’ with remover and a soft cotton cloth. Don’t soak the cloth with remover, just a dab at a time until you find out how it reacts with the carpet fibers. Keep moving to a clean spot on the cloth and repeat until the stain is gone.

  2. Shortstuff13 says:

Pour some nail polish remover onto the nail polish, carpeting & all. Use paper towel or a clean white absorbent towel to blot up as much of the polish as you can. DO NOT RUB the remover into the carpeting.Use a blotting motion or stand on the area with your shoes on, so as to absorb the remover & polish. Take your time & work to eliminate the polish a little bit at a time. Once the polish is gone, put some a little bit of shampoo or dish soap, to clean up the carpet & get rid of the strong odor of the remover.

You can remove the nail polish with nail polish remover, but make sure you use the regular kind of nail polish remover. The acetone-free kind does not work.

Pour the nail polish remover on a rag and blot and rub the mark with this.

If you can’t find nail polish remover that contains acetone, you can buy acetone from any hardware store and use this instead.

Either product should be safe for use on your carpet, but test a small inconspicuous area first to be sure.
