How do i get nail polish stains off my sweatpants?

I don;’t want to buy anything, so some like household items.Our washer is broke, so i have to live with the clothes i got that r clean for now.

its red nail polish, and the pants are green.

    Lets hope you have nail polish remover

    Scrape the excess paint off of the clothing. A butter knife helps to lift the excess paint off (and clean the knife with nail polish remover.)

    Test a spot of acetone where you cant see it to note any changes. If no changes (discoloration) go on. If there are changes, stop, you’re stuck.

    Flush acetone through the stain to an absorbent pad or rag. Continue to do this until you’re not seeing anymore color come through. A white rag or pads would work the best for this.

    Let it dry throughly and then wash twice in the washer. Use a bit of stain remover if you have it. If not, dab a little detergant on the spot and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then throw in the wash.

    Soak in nail polish remover for that spot and keep dabbing the spot with an old rag, then soak in hot water and scrub area with bar soap. If stain is there repeat.

    My best bet would be to use nail-polish remover. Soaking a cotton ball in remover and then dabbing the stain with it should help. If the stain has been there for quite a while and is completely dried, you might have to use more remover and leave the cotton ball on the stain for a while!

    Either way…definitely first test the remover on some part of the sweatpants that cannot be seen, just to make sure that you don’t end up removing the dye from the sweatpants along with the nail polish! :)

    I think you should use this website. If you live in england and have watched ‘How clean is your house?’ You will know that Kim Woodburn and Aggie Makenzie are the Queens of clean.

    Lay the fabric face down on a cloth and dab the stain from the other side with nail-varnish remover. If stain persists, try dry cleaning.

    I think you might be stuck with the stain. I’ve had nail-polish remover eat away at the fabric before it took the stain out. Ended up having to buy a new shirt…
