We removed the carpet that had the pet stains & there is a spot where the urine remains. What do I need to do to get it out before laying new floor?

    You need to use vinegar!

Vinegar neutralizes the alkaline of the urine. Pour it over the area, and let it sit for a couple hours. Scrub the hell out of it with a stiff brush, then rinse it down with water a few times until you can’t detect the smell of urine any more.

Depending on the situation you might need to do this a couple times. Letting it dry and laying down a nice layer of baking soda might help too. After 24 hours, vacuum it up and see if the results are any better. It should absorb any remaining scent.

Before proceeding with your other flooring, seal the area with either a shellac or a paint/primer like Kilz.

Buy a bottle of natures miracle from a pet store. Spay the spot or just pour it on the spot.. Take a piece of the old carpet padding or carpet, set it on the spot and put a weight on it.

Bleach works well, it will be a little stinky though but will also kill all bacteria.
