It depends. Is the pet stain dog or cat? Male or female? Is the stain in direct sunlight? Is there anything in their diet like medicine that has passed into their urine? How old is the stain.

In general If your pet has just started urinating on your carpet and you catch it right away you could use Club Soda. No lemon or lime flavor it is a sugar and will leave a residue. Pour 2x as much club soda as your animal has urinated. Fold white cotton towels 2 to 3 inches thick and place over urine stain. Place 2 to 3 telephone books over the white towels. Leave for several hours. Club soda effervesces up and will help neutralize the urea. When it is dry there is no cleaner residue. I have seen oxy bleach out carpet. Resolve leave the cleaner residue or even set the stain.
If the stain is in the sun the carpet may have bleached out.
Go to home depot and get Chem Dry Stain Extinguisher to take care of the spots if the club soda did not wicket the stain out of your carpeting.

Resolve for pet stains worked for me. Depends on how much and how long the stain has been there.

You may also want to check with your local Pet supply store.

This really works! The link i’m attaching is for cats, but a little more research should land you with the type we own which is for all pets.

Try some enzyme cleaner such as Shout, or the stuff from the Pet store can be really helpful. Woollite Oxy Pet for carpet and upholstery is good too.
Or if you need a home remedy, try white, household vinegar.

this is the most professional and detailed procedure we have had success with, repeat as necessary. Rug people use similar mixtures all the time
