How do i get rid of a grease stain on my deck?

best stain removercleaning suppliesjanitorial suppliesremoving stains

I accidentally left a back of garbage on my deck and raccoons got into it and left a mess. After i cleaned the mess up a stain was left on my deck, im not sure what it is exactly but i assume it's some kind of cooking oil or grease. I scrubbed it with soapy water and a scrubbing brush but could not get it off. I'm getting ready to seal it soon and i really want to get rid of the stain first. Thanks for helping.

I have two suggestions for you. the first is to use a can of coke. the acid in the coke will eat away the grease. The second is to use dawn orginal soap to clean it, as it repels the oil. You may have to use both suggestions, but its worth a try

My dad used to buy this stuff from Lowes I am not to sure what the name it but if you explain it to a customer service rep they will know what you are wanting.

It does not cost a lot either and it works.

a 5% bleach solution. Power wash it afterwards. Or at least hose it down.

  4. Tacy says:

    1.Apply salt to the stain.
2.Allow the salt to sit on the grease stain until grease has been absorbed.
3.Repeat as necessary until the stain is removed.
    4.Polish the entire area.

Any kitchen cleaner should work. Spray on, let sit, scrub area with some sort of brush, then power wash it off. You'll want to power wash the entire deck anyway before you seal it.
