How do i get rid of a nail polish stain on my carpet?

I have a 50 cent size stain of dark red nail polish in my carpet.
I have tried nail polish remover but that just seems to rub it in.
Please help if my dad sees it he will kill me as it is bright white carpet!

    A whole bottle of shaving cream. That happend at my grammas and she got so worried. Someone told her to use shaving cream and it came right out! Trust me it works. I was there!

    It will take the whole bottle but it works. There was also remover in the carpet too which made the stain smeer. You could also try bleach.

    Can I tell the story though. Sarah spilled nail polish remover on Shelly's foot and Shelly had long pants and red polish on so the polish left big splotches on the carpet. It was dark red! My gramma walked in and she almost had a heart attack. Shelly's mom came in and said it would come out with shaving cream. Nobody beleived her but she came out about 5 minutes later and announced that all the splotches were gone. We went inside to check and it acually worked! She also announced that my gramma needed to buy more shaving cream now! lol!

    buy a new carpet:) jk. what you can do is ( as long as the stains not very deep) you can actually cut it out. it sounds stupid and totally noticable at first, but after you do that, add water or club soda then vaccumn it out. it will look normal. the reason for the water and vaccumning is so it puffs out a little to fill out where its a teeny bit shorter. dont even attempt this though if your stain is deep.

    If the stain has NOT dried, soak the stain with hairspray and keep blotting with a clean towel or rag until the polish is taken up. Do NOT rub, it will spread the stain.
