How do I get this stain out?

I accidently left my lipgloss in my shorts and they went through the wash and dryer. Then my mom was hanging out the laundry and she noticed my dad’s new shirt. On the back were a lot of stains from the oils in my lipgloss i guess. Now my mom is mad at me and she can’t figure out how to get the stains out. Does anyone know how?

Ok. Well since it has been washed, the stain would have "set" somewhat but try this.

Get some white spirit ( dry cleaning fluid or MURLEX) and dab it gently on to the stain, it removes lipstick and lipbalm from clothes. If it gets rid of the colour and the stain great! Now, you need to get rid of the oil stain, which has been set since its been washed but try to rub a small amount of dishwashing liquid into it (straight) and wait for it to emulsify.

It will hopefully lift out the grease component.

    Rinse under cold water.

NB: Oh! You could try to put some Glycerine on the stains on your dads shirt first. It will help loosen the stain, especially since its been washed. Glycerine is colourless and odourless so wont make it worse! Then use the dishwashing liquid to lift out the oil/grease left from the lipgloss.

Dont try methylated spirits as its a solvent for paint. It wont work on the stain you have.
I hope this works and I think you should buy these books for your mum!!

Half a cup of cat urine in your wash~

Dab the affected area with a little methylated spirit (paint thinner). Apply liquid dish washing liquid directly to the stain and work it into the fibers. Wash on the hottest wash the fabric can stand. Try adding a little OXY bleach to the wash.

Have her put some Dawn dish soap on the stains, take a toothbrush ( a new clean one, not one someone has used) scrub in the Dawn, let set for a few min, Wash in as hot water as recommended on the shirt ( hot if possible) Dawn should get the stains out. If it looks like they are still there after removing from the washer, let air dry, not the dryer, and repeat as above.
