Depending what kind of stain. You might try Hydrogen Peroxide. My husband uses it on his nursing scrubs for dried blood. If that does not do it I do not know what else will take the stain out of your white shirt. It may take a couple of times to do it.

Believe it or not there is a product called stain devil made by carbona that takes out the specific stain you have in your clothes. Sold near the laundry isle. It’s worth a try if you really love that shirt.

If you like the shirt well enough to take the time: on a sunny day hang the shirt outside in direct sun, then spray the spot with water until it’s saturated. Respray spot after it dries, and keep repeating wetting it and letting it dry in direct sun until the spot is gone.

Depends on the stain. For ink use alcohol and for blood use vinegar. Make sure to soak the stain (not the shirt), let it work for about 10 minutes and launder as usual. For other stains, you might try pre-treating with liquid laundry detergent or a paste of powder and water. Let that work longer.
