When priming and painting the stairwell into our newly developed basement, we have noticed spots of primer on the piece of stained maple that is at the top of the stairs. Is there any way to remove the primer without stripping the stain? HELP!

It should scrape off if they weren’t "rubbed" when wet. If not, then buy yourself some "Goof-off" – it shouldn’t harm the stained finish – just soften the primer enough so you can remove it easily.

Its easy to remove the paint but difficult to remove the primer. You can scrap it or if doesn’t work then you should buy any Solution from market which can remove it.

    With warm water

Use some mineral spirits. It is strong enough to take it off yet not so strong that it will damage the wood or finish.
