I would recommend white vinegar. Mix a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. Spray or dab it onto the stains. Lightly dab the area with a soft cloth. Vinegar is a great stain remover, plus it kills germs and deodorizes. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.

It really depends upon the fiber content. Microfiber: a little upholstery shampoo, a light brushing, rinse and extract — it’s gone. Rayon chenille: it’s toast.

This is a problem I have just solved, it worked on my couch wonderfully. I sprayed it all down with water. Then I rubbed a normal white bar of soap all over it, lightly. I rubbed it all with a brush, and sprayed it once more. I put a fan in front of it to dry. All the water marks are completely gone and even a pen mark!
