How do you clean up a burnt carpet stain?

I was being an idiot and burning some paper and on my way to the bathroom, it burnt my hand and it dropped on the carpet. I stomped out the fire but unfortunately it left a huge stain in my carpet. How would I go about cleaning it up?

This happened to me once! If its burned its damaged so not possible to clean. I always keep a spare bit of a carpet for each room ie the cuttings off it when its new. I got a sharp craft knife and cut a square round the burn I then insert a new cut square of carpet and glue it down into place, just make sure the square is the same size as the square cut out! Its not perfect but if done right barley noticeable..better than a big burn or the expense of a new carpet.

Unfortunately the carpet is burned so there’s no way you can unburn it. Best thing to do especially if its a small spot or spots is to carefully cut off the burt part with scissors.

I’m so glad you and your house are all right!
Well in answer to your question, have a carpet installer come out and look at the damage, then cut out the burnt part and hopefully replace it with a piece that matches. Or you may have to replace the whole part; whatever they think is best.
In the meantime, put a rug down.
