how do you get a nail polish stain out of the carpet?

during the summer i accidently spilled red nail polish on my carpet and i couldnt get it out. and i didnt want to tell my mom and make her mad so i just moved my bed over it. now i have to move my bad and i dont want my parents to see the stain. any suggestions on how to get it out? the carpet its gray so bleach wont work.

    pure acetone nail polish remover. its usually bottled for artificial nails and is only about a dollar or so. pour it on your carpet then use a rag to blot the old nail polish off. you might want to test a hidden spot on your carpet first see if the acetone will melt your carpet.
